7) Which sandwiches in the book do your family members like the most? Why?

They enjoyed almost all of them, but the sandwiches that were grilled, baked and had lots of different vegetables in them were favorites. My kids and my friends’ kids enjoyed the sandwiches that had chocolate, strawberries and cheese in them.

8) Do you think the number of people involved in the vegetarian movement will increase over the next decade? Why or why not?

Yes, I definitely believe that the number of vegetarians will increase in the next 10 years. Awareness of vegetarian food is growing and people are finally realizing that being a vegetarian doesn’t mean eating plain, boiled vegetables! Vegetarian ingredients can be prepared in many different ways. The vegetarian diet is delicious, wholesome, and varied, as well as being healthy and nutritious.

9) How has vegetarianism influenced other cuisines around the world?

As people understand more about vegetarian food, they have started accepting it into their day-to-day life. Almost all cuisines of the world have vegetarian food. Even people who are nonvegetarian have slowly started choosing vegetarian food more often.

10) Nutritionists in the US have been concerned about the increasing levels of obesity in adults and especially in children. How does a vegetarian diet address these concerns?

The vegetarian diet is very healthy and has a lot less fat than a nonvegetarian diet. Vegetarian food choices provide all the essential vitamins and minerals needed for a balanced diet.

Vegetarian diets have a much higher fiber content compared to nonvegetarian diets. Fiber is so important for a healthier heart, lower cholesterol, and lower risk of heart disease. It also aids the digestive process.
